Lane Whitney studied painting in the style of the Old Masters. She learned the techniques of mixing color palettes that have been forgotten or abandoned in much of today's contemporary painting. These palettes, combined with her use of light, give Lane's portraits the life-like quality her work is admired for. Lane received a B.A. in Studio Art in college, and then furthered her study of painting for three years in Atlanta, Georgia under internationally trained artist, Chris DiDomizio. Lane's love for people is born out of her belief that every individual is unique and valuable. In addition to portraits, Lane creates paintings of subjects that inspire her, which she calls her 'joy paintings.' When not working on art, Lane enjoys cooking, running, and reading. She also aspires to become an avid gardener one day. |
